I am a Computer Analyst, as is the woman I am having a problem with. Our Director manages us both romotely from our New York office. I have been with the company for about 6 months now. This lady has such a rough personality, she is very, very arrogant and verbaly lashes out at me at least once a week. We both have the same jobs yet she tries to "pawn" work off on me constantly. For instance; she comes into my office quite often and says "Brian, I only have a couple things for you to do today" and blurts off a couple silly things (that she could very well do herself). I help her out anytime she asks, I will put off what I'm doing to help her out. Yet when the time comes when I need a little help, shes always to busy or has something to do. Its almost like she wants me to fail. She is the kind of person if I confront her about the situation it would get worse, I cant have it get worse because for 1: I cant take it that much longer, 2: We are the only 2 people at this company location for tech support, so we are sort of the "lone rangers". I have talked to my Director/Manager in New York, he told me specifically that "he is on my side" and he knows how she is (he only has to deal with her on a remote basis, I am the only one who works close to her. I have talked to other people that have had my job in the past and got promotions within the company. They all say "I was so glad to get out of there", a couple even said they cringe when they see her walk in the room. Which kind of makes me wonder why she hasn't had a promotion in the 17 years that she has been doing the same thing. I hate to keep bringing this up to my boss but its getting to where I don't want to be at work simply because I dont want to be around her or hear her voice (dont get me wrong, I love my job itself). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
