How to approach not being treated equally in jobs that are supposed to be equal

I am in sales and recently my boss hired another assistant, and we are supposed to both be doing the same job. When I first started 3 years ago I wanted to advertise that I had moved to this new firm and she said no. Now this new person just started and they are advertising that she is at our firm. I have to admit I am upset about this, but I am not sure how to approach it without appearing jealous. Any ideas?
